COMMUNITY HUI INFORMATION
This application is for community based organizations who want to conduct outreach activities at the Re-Discover Kailua festival. Acceptable outreach activities include: distributing flyers and other informational materials, exhibiting photos and other graphic displays, recruiting memberships, giving away or selling the organization’s logo-wear or other merchandise which does not conflict with Hand-Crafters or Food Vendors. Organizations may also offer a game or other fun activity in the Kids Zone as a way to raise money. If the Organization wishes to sell food or crafts, it must apply separately as a Food or Craft vendor. Please print out this form, then submit the requested information via e-mail, fax, mail or deliver in person to the address listed below.
QUALIFICATIONS – Organizations must:
· Be a bona-fide community-based organization which provides services to youth, families, seniors or other public purpose
· Provide proof of the organization’s community purpose such as its IRS letter of tax exemption, a copy of its articles of incorporation or a brochure or web address which can verify same
· Provide a copy of its business General Excise Tax License
RULES – Organizations are required to:
· Supply their own displays, storage containers, signage, and other tools and supplies
· Keep their area and exhibits in a clean and orderly state throughout the two day event. Pick up rubbish in and about the area throughout the event.
· Provide own printed signage. No hand-printed signage.
· Provide enough labor to efficiently maintain its activities over a two day period.
· Sign a Vendor contract agreeing to comply with the terms and conditions set forth by the Re-Discover Kailua organizers.
SELECTION CRITERIA – First consideration given to organizations
Community organizations wishing to sell food, snacks or hand-crafts must apply as a food or craft vendor. Community groups may sell their own logo-wear or other merchandise which does not conflict with the Food or Made-In-Hawai'i Hand-Crafter's merchandise. Community groups may also conduct a game or other fun activity to raise funds. All applications subject to review and approval.
